i can wait for treats

mom has been lecturing me about self-control. apparently it means you have to wait a lot for good things. like treats for instance. notice where the potato chip is in these pictures:

what the heck is that doing there?

i really want that chip...
this sucks.

can i have it mom? please?
can i PLEASE have the chip?

do your humans do this to you?

    thank dog someone else's humans do that too.

    When my ma puts my dinner bowl down in front of me, I have to sit and wait until she says it's ok to eat.

    That's torture of the highest degree, I think you'd agree.

    But I don't think I'd've had your will-power to resist that crisp. I'd have chowed it down before my ma had time to tell me not to.
